Architectural photography is photographs taken of buildings , in which photographers use different techniques and specialised equipment. One of the techniques commonly used is controlled perspective using the vertical lines and parrelle this is achieved by having the camera focal plane of perpendicular to the ground. This done by tilt/shift lenses.
In lesson we was set the task of going around the uni campus and taking pictures of the building , i experimented with using a different lens to take these pictures with ,lens that the lens i chose to use was the fish eye lens which is a wide angle lens that produces a visual distortion.
After 3 shots and looking at the pictures after seeing that they was far to bright after sorting this issue out the next 3 pictures which looked really effective in the fish eye angle style.

These 3 pictures i chose to take round the side of the building , this middle picture is taken at the bottom of some stairs i wanted to get the winding effect they had however because the lighting was to bright it did not come out as i planned if i was to re take this picture the changes i would make would to change the brightness and contrast and also to be stood further back in order to get more of the stairs in the picture.

Again this is taken from the side of the building but the fish eye lens gives the effect of making the wall look longer because you can not see the end point of the wall ,however again the brightness in the picture is to much and takes over the picture.
ISO 400 F2.8 exposure manual focal length 5.0mm

After making these altercations and changing the aperture and brightness , the picture came out a lot better and can see the building clearly , also by moving closer the tighter angle is a lot better and the lens gives the effect of the pole bending on the far left.
F5.6 ISO 400

After taking a picture from the bottom of the stairs i decided to try and take a picture from behind and a long distance angle in order to get both the side window and the back of the steps into the photo.

Out of all the pictures i took with the fish eye lens this is the one i like best , i wanted to get the whole of the building into the picture in order to do this with the fish eye was to take it from a low angle and the lens creates the abstract look to the picture as well.
